Guard Railing
Enabling compliance with the following legislation it is essential that wherever there is a possibility of falling, roof edge protection must be provided. The installation of a free standing or permanent guard rail system is one of the methods available.
Legislation:
- Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 1994, clauses 13(2)(a) and 14(a).
- The workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1992, clause 13(b).
- The Construction (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1996, clause 8(1) to (5).
- The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, clause 8(1) (c).
- The Working at Height Regulations 2005
Weightanka
Cradletech PJP Services are approved installers of the Weightanka. This is a mobile deadweight anchor device for use on roofs of up to 15 degrees pitch, where there no guardrail or permanent fall arrest system.
Accessanka
A self contained portable anchor device for rope access workers the Accessanka does not penetrate the roof, is suitable for most flat roof surfaces and requires no attachment to structural members.
The unit is intended for single person use, however in case of rescue has been tested for two persons plus equipment up to a working load limit of 200kg.
Accessanka has been designed for easy transportation and installation, being of modular construction, with no part weighing more than 25kg or 2 metres in size.
Wireanka
Where it is not possible or feasible to fix through the roof structure Wireanka anchor devices can be used as supports for Class "C" horizontal flexible safety lines.
